From mid-summer 2015 through today, 60+ new works have been created - a high percentage of them have sold. I will now be producing approximately about 6 new paintings each quarter. All of my paintings are created with the acrylic medium on Ampersand Hardwood Panels with a 1 1/2” birch cradle. My first series of painting were created in the 36” x 48” size. In the last couple of years I have reconfigured my preferred painting size to square. Specifically 36" x 36", 30” x 30” and 24” x 24”. All of my 21 new painting for 2020 have been created at the 30”x30” size. They are all completely original and, of course, one of kind. no prints will be made. The panels are prepared with multiple coats of gesso and then a molding paste is applied to areas that will have heavy texture. Recently I have used the technique of pouring flat white latex directly and thickly to areas of the hardwood panels. The painting themselves are extremely detailed and with each completed work the detail seems to grow. Like my digital work these painting are easy to live with and will make you smile. The other thing, is that all of paintings are meant to be touched and the texture explored with your fingers

This is his story… Joseph Wednesday’s a cop, a detective who  works the criminal underworld around Long Beach. Straight-shooting, hard-bitten lifer
who pulls back the gritty curtain only to ask...”just the facts ma’am .”

Captain Reginald Purrley - distroyed

Captain Reginald Purrley was completed on December 7th, 2020. Acrylic on hardwood, 30”x 30” with an 1 1/2” cradle. One of a kind, no prints.

This is his story… First in war, first in peace, this is Captain Reginald Purrley. His leadership of the D.C. Delta Commandos was instrumental in defeating the pandemic coup of 1920. Their unit patch, embroidered with the challenge - “To insure that the sun comes up” - endures.

Health First - distroyed

Health First was completed on November 25th, 2020. Acrylic on hardwood, 30”x 30” with an 1 1/2” cradle. One of a kind, no prints.

This is his story… “The neighborhood of “Tails End” is a microcosm of the feline population with a mixture of short-hair repubs and the more pure-breed dems. Their Health Commissioner is Randel Murray, a 10 year public servant in the Fauci tradition. He juggles government regulations and self-serving propaganda with science based facts. No easy job durning a pandemic.

Roberto the Spy - Distroyed

Roberto the Spy was completed on November 9th, 2020. Acrylic on hardwood, 30”x 30” with an 1 1/2” cradle. One of a kind, no prints.

This is his story… The new Democratic administrations saw a rebooting of the spy agencies that keeps us safe. Roberto is the newly appointed station chief for the (ECU) European Cat Union. Rooting out right-wing nationalists with ties to Putinfur fills his daily agenda; evenings generally find him at the casino where Baccarat and a long-haired tabby offer diversion.

Feline Lives Matter was completed on October 24th, 2020. Acrylic on hardwood, 30”x 30” with an 1 1/2” cradle. One of a kind, no prints.

This is her story, kinda… “A cat named Bitches sat for this painting. Bitches, (a meta lesbian as you might imagine) was not having her best day, giving off frumpy vibes punctuated with occasional dark scowls. Finally, getting goosed with the laser pointer produced the required LOOK.”

Whose your Donkey was completed on October 11th, 2020. Acrylic on hardwood, 30”x 30” with an 1 1/2” cradle. One of a kind, no prints.

This is his story…The Feline Lives Matter protest marched and chanted; there were occasional dust-ups with various alt-right groups and at least one sighting of local Proud Dogs. The batshitery of the current campaign knows no bounds. Having taken refuge at his local polling place Mortimer cast his ballot,
and then returns to the fray.

The Steampunk Optometrist was completed on September 27th, 2020. Acrylic on hardwood, 30”x 30” with an 1 1/2” cradle. One of a kind, no prints.

This is his story…Roberto spends his day among the minutiae and esoteric of his beloved steampunk roots.
Grinding glass, polishing lens, mixed with delicate medal work all contribute to serving the needs of his near-sighted clientele. After dark finds him spinning early punk at the local underground art emporium.

This is his story…The Apiary on Marjean Court is the official address for Rodney the Beekeeper.
This dapper young tabby has a taste for bow-ties and steampunk goggles HOWEVER his true secret
is his DEEP VIBRATION PURR, that mesmerize and sedates his charges.
Just what you need when you’re bopping with the bees.

The Retro Egyptian-Distroyed

The Retro Egyptian was completed on August 18th, 2020. Acrylic on hardwood, 30”x 30” with an 1 1/2” cradle. One of a kind, no prints.

This is her story…Mia, a graduate student in “Early Egyptian  Archaeology”  studies during the day -
finds her evenings spent in the deep sub-basements of the National History Museum,
where she tries on various costumes.

This is his story…Professor Raspberry long tenured curmudgeon of the biology department found himself busting a grumpy and reading the toilet wall - “You know what they say: feed a cold, starve a fever, drink a corona.” Plague humor replaces blow-job humor, he sighs…welcome to 2020.

Lady of the Court - distroyed

The Lady of the Court was completed on July 7th, 2020. Acrylic on hardwood, 30”x 30” with an 1 1/2” cradle. One of a kind, no prints.

This is her story…Of all the positions at court The Queen’s Gamer is most sought.
That position is currently occupied by her Ladyship Miffeny Smallturds, of Brighton.
Miff gives extravagant gaming parties to nerdy members of the court.
Current favorites include Cards Against Humanity, Jenna and Secret Hitler.
Not as well known is her obsession with costume jewelry.”

the blue Demon II-sold

The Blue Demon II was completed on June 18th, 2020. Acrylic on hardwood, 30”x 30” with an 1 1/2” cradle. One of a kind, no prints.
This is the second time I have re-visited this subject matter, although a different cat and pose.
The first is in private collection St. Louis, Missouri, sold at Soulard Art Gallery - Steampunk IV exhibition- in late January 2020.
(The Blue Demon II is SOLD (March 2021) into private collection in St. Louis.)
This is his story…During the daylight this curmudgeonly antiquarian supervises The Piccadilly Book Snob.
In the evening a steampunk detective wanders the back alleys of East London and Whitechapel.
He is known as The Blue Demon, scourge of evil. Last hope of the lost.

The rocket stood in the cold winter morning, making summer with every breath of its mighty exhausts.

“in this style £5” was completed on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020 - at the height of the pandemic. I think I’ll call him Pan.

His story is one of generational loss. The first recorded death from
the Spanish Flu in England was the infamous Blue Demon, detective and proprietor of
The Piccadilly Book Snob. Now 102 years later his only heir, his cousin Pan, has passed
…being his country's first COVID-19 victim...all while attending a Alice in Wonderland dress-up affair.

Here is the story…Martha is a cyber-punk deva from Brooklyn’s Brighton Beach. During the day she
manages the ethnic eatery “Little Odessa” but tonight finds her at the Drafthouse, for a
late night viewing of the classic...“The Black Cat”

FELINE Rocketship-xm (destroyed)

Here is the story…I think it likely only Boomers, will understand this title. The original Rocket Ship X-M (1950)
filmed in glorious B&W was one of the original space operas, WAY before the race to the moon.

Where’s Waldina

Where’s Waldina was completed on February 19th, 2020. Acrylic on hardwood, 30”x 30” with an 1 1/2” cradle. One of a kind, no prints.

Here is the story…Waldina comes from a family of game designers. Two generations of jigsaw puzzlers left her a bit bent. Her twin, the infamous Where’s Waldo himself, did her no favors with his fame - the sister reacted badly spent some months within Bedlam. Moving to the ECU (European Cat Union), helped her to see life clearly.
“Where’s Waldina”? Turns out Provence, France.

Bell the cat - SOLD

Here is her story...The use of hallucinogenics led to bi-polar beginnings until Madeline found herself someplace, somewhere, sometime else. She was “orientationally unavailable” at that moment and for many to come. The mask is worn to hide, cover-up and misdirect questions
from authoritarians religious moralists.
All these wonderments taken at sum reveal why the cat was belled.

the whaler

The Whaler was completed on January 19th, 2020. Acrylic on hardwood, 30”x 30” with an 1 1/2” cradle. One of a kind, no prints.

This is the story…“It is not the way of cats to interfere with fate” barks Captain Ahab Smallpurrs to a crowded poop-deck.
Today, this much is known: The great white whales now sing their songs of mating at higher decibels than ever before. They do this to be heard over the cracking splitting falling of Antarctic ice hunks. Of course, this is only a story.
But “soprano whales”  are now common, it is said.
