The Paintings of CatWorks (2023)

2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 2022 2023 2024

From mid-summer 2015 through today, 175+ new works have been created - a fair to high percentage of them have sold. I will now be producing approximately about 6 new paintings each quarter. They will all be revealed HERE. If you are interested in price and availability please email me here or by using the contact button above. I will then fill you in on available inventory and the price range.

All of my paintings are created in acrylics either on Ampersand Hardwood Panels with a 1 1/2” birch cradle or high quality gallery wrapped canvas. My first series of painting were created in the 36” x 48” size. In the last few years I have reconfigured my preferred painting size to square. Specifically 36" x 36", 30” x 30” and 24” x 24”. All of my 21 new painting for 2023 and forward have been created at the 30”x30” size. They are all completely original and, of course, one of kind. The panels are prepared with multiple coats of gesso and then a molding paste is applied to areas that will have heavy texture. Recently I have used the technique of pouring flat white latex directly and thickly to areas of the hardwood panels. The painting themselves are extremely detailed and with each completed work the detail seems to grow. Like my digital work these painting are easy to live with and will make you smile. The other thing, is that all of paintings are meant to be touched and the texture explored with your fingers...to find yet another level of enjoyment.

By the Sea

There are stories that only women know and ONLY tell to other women. Or rarely, to a young women or girl. But NEVER to a Tom, never to the male.
Because of this, the story must remain untold...as women ONLY tell the tale.

moms for milk

This painting was was completed on November 24, 2023, 30”x 30”, acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas.
This is the story…“Although many people believe that milk is good for cats, the reality is that it's a myth. Unfortunately, milk is not the healthiest beverage for felines. A large majority of cats are lactose intolerant. While your kitten may seem perfectly content lapping up a bowl of milk, it's not good for him or her. In many ways, milk can become your kitten's "comfort food" that is reminiscent of their mother's milk.” -from the 1905 book on kitchen tips MOMS FOR MILK.

This is his story…His Purr suffered from psychotic episodes and delusions and when he was at his most creatively prolific he was at his most mentally challenged.
This biographer has an opinion not shared by many, THAT Randolph suffered from “primary-eyeballist”.
In other words he could only really see the colors of primary color wheel - and therefore that’s what he painted - and therefore we have Post-Impressionism.

weird tails

This painting was was completed on August 20, 2023, 30”x 30”, acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas.”
This is the story…Weird Tails is an American fantasy and horror fiction magazine that began publishing in late 1922. However, this early issue never sees the light of day. The problem was that the story was true! A manuscript has turned up from an ancient geezer named Jacob Donner Jr. which proportedlly tells the story of an ill-fated wagon train, the attempted winter crossing of the Sierra Nevada’s, the sickness and depravity and finally CANNIBALISM. Jacob has somehow survived the harrowing experience and ends his account with “that which happens in the mountains stays in the mountains.” The publisher thinks the story is not weird enough for his discerning audience.

This issue precipitated the move of his congregation to the island of Toga, where his church (often referred to as The Playhouse) flourished. His parishioners often called him Peewee…no one really seems to know why.

Girl with the Pearl Earring-sold

This painting was was completed on March 12, 2023, 30”x 30”, acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas.
(Sold to a collector from California on October 29, 2023)
This is the story…The idea, claims the curator, is Renaissance personalities posed against contemporary painted backgrounds,
“to contrast and compare, this juxtaposition of style, form and color. The timelessness of then and now”.
“Girl with a Pearl Earring” is portrayed by Catharine, a cos-play actor of some local renown, in this case there is historical significance.
Cat claims direct (although somewhat muddled records during the World Wars have cast doubt) descent from the famous artist.
And…it must be noted, no Pearl Earring.
